Warm and welcoming spaces

Warm and welcoming spaces

If you’re worried about the cost of heating your home or feeling lonely, to help, we support more than seventy warm spaces each week across Bolton.

Details are at www.boltonathome.org.uk/warm-spaces. Or read on for more information.

The spaces are generally community or UCAN centres, but also include churches and even allotment buildings.

They’re welcoming places with heating and seating, and warming drinks. Some also offer food, community activities, arts and crafts, internet and Wi-Fi, and exercise classes.

Help's also at hand for housing issues, health and wellbeing, money matters, employment and training, and more.

Warm spaces are among the range of support we provide if you’d appreciate some help to cope with higher food and energy costs, and the cold weather. Thank you to all the warm space volunteers we work with.

You can find our help for winter information grouped together at www.boltonathome.org.uk/cost-of-living. It includes practical ways to deal with rising costs, how to get support from our experts who work all year-round to help households save and gain, details of food assistance and more. Advice or urgent help is available whether you’re employed, currently out of work, or retired.

You can also get information and enquire about all our services through our main phone number of 01204 328000 or at our UCAN centres: www.boltonathome.org.uk/ucan

Jon Lord is our Group Chief Executive Officer. Jon says: “We know this is going to be a tough winter with the cost of living situation. We’re here to help anyone living in one of our properties who would appreciate some support. If you’ve never come to us for things like this before, or find yourself needing urgent assistance, we’ll do what we can to help you. Similarly, if you have a loved one or friend in difficulty, we might be able to help them too or point them in the right direction to other support that’s available.”

Bookmark www.boltonathome.org.uk/cost-of-living for instant access to a directory of information and contact details. It includes money and energy advice, warm spaces with social activities and digital support, food pantries for low-cost shopping, tasty and affordable recipes, and employment support.

We could also help you to apply for funding for emergency fuel payments, food parcels or essential transport costs. Funding is not always available, but if you need urgent support for situations like these then please contact us on 01204 328000, ask to speak with our one of our team of money advisors, and we’ll see how we can help you.
