Award-winning Manbassadors project brings mental health support even closer to home

As Christmas approaches, it's important to remember that the festive period can be a difficult time for many- and statistics show that men in the UK are only around half as likely as women to access psychological therapies**.

But please remember that help's closer than you might think. So far, over 60 Bolton-based businesses have signed up to become part of our Bolton Manbassadors project, including:

As Manbassadors, they look out for symptoms of poor mental health in their male customers/clients, start conversations, and point them towards the right support whenever they might need it.

The project's been such a success since launching in July 2021 that it was named 'Campaign of the Year' (alongside our fantastic creative agency Maxmedia) at last week's UK Housing Awards. Over 90 people have been referred to mental health support so far, and the project continues to make a real difference to people's lives as it grows.

If you'd like to learn more about how Manbassadors can help, and/or get involved in the project (either as an organisation or an individual), visit: www.boltonathome.org.uk/bolton-manbassadors or message the Bolton Manbassadors Facebook page: www.facebook.com/BoltonManbassadors.

**While we've set up our Bolton Manbassadors project to address men's mental health issues, anyone- regardless of their gender- can access wellbeing support by visiting or contacting one of our UCAN centres.

If you, a family member, friend, or someone else you know could use a helping hand- we're here for you. Find your nearest UCAN centre and contact details at: www.boltonathome.org.uk/ucan.
