Did you know that:
We launched our Young Person’s Scrutiny Panel with our friends at RECLAIM (learn more about them here: www.reclaim.org.uk) in 2022 to give 16 to 25-year olds a space to share their experiences as tenants/users of Bolton at Home services (or living with Bolton at Home tenants- such as their parents/guardians), as well as an opportunity to develop their personal and professional skills.
One of our current members, Bunguke said:
“Being a member has encouraged me to become more confident when speaking in front of people, which has helped me to further build on my communication skills.
“I’ve also learned to think critically by analysing first, instead of jumping to conclusions- and, as a result, I’ve got better at problem-solving issues in a more evaluative, analytical way.”
If you know an aspirational young person aged 16 to 25, don’t forget to mention that we’re recruiting. If they join us, we’ll help them to realise their immense potential as:
Spaces have filled up quickly when we’ve advertised our Young Person’s Scrutiny Panel previously- so please pass this message on before it's too late. Young people can apply for join by emailing Kirsty, our Community Development Officer: kirsty.peake@boltonathome.org.uk.
Existing members (like Bunguke) have also said it’s been a great addition to their CVs, helped them to collaborate and build new friendships along the way, and given them another way to get out and about (with several social and professional outings planned for members in the coming weeks/months).
