Upcoming webinars: Know your rights and what to expect from your housing provider

Four Million Homes is hosting three important webinars this December to help social housing tenants understand their rights and what housing providers must deliver. These sessions are independent, practical, and designed to give you confidence about what strong standards mean in practice.

Webinar one: Energy efficiency — your rights to a warm, healthy, and affordable home.

  • Date: Thursday 11 December 2025
  • Time: 2:30 to 4:00pm, and 7:30pm to 9:00pm
  • Location: Online.

Why this matters:

Energy costs and home conditions affect your health and finances. This session explains your rights and what housing providers must do to keep homes safe and affordable.

What you’ll learn:

  • Your rights to a warm, safe and well-maintained home.
  • What housing providers must do: EPC standards, repairs, ventilation, damp and mould duties.
  • Practical steps to manage energy use safely and effectively.
  • Where to get financial support and money advice.

Webinar two: End-of-year reflection — what’s changed in social housing

  • Date: Saturday 13 December 2025
  • Time: 10:00am to 11:30am
  • Location: Online.

Why this matters:

Social housing is changing. This session looks back at key developments and what tenants have told Four Million Homes — with space for open discussion.

What you’ll learn:

  • Key changes in social housing this year.
  • What tenants have told Four Million Homes.
  • Shared reflections and discussion.

Webinar three: Access to information — your rights under STAIRs

  • Date: Monday 15 December 2025
  • Time: 2:00pm to 3:30pm
  • Location: Online.

Why this matters:

Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) is being introduced to make services more transparent. It’ll require housing providers to publish key information proactively and respond to tenant requests for details — such as repairs, safety checks, and how homes are managed.

What you’ll learn:

  • What STAIRs is and why it’s being introduced.
  • The types of information tenants will be able to request.
  • How these rights will strengthen transparency and accountability.
