Upcoming webinar: Repairs — your rights and what to expect from your housing provider

Upcoming webinar: Repairs — your rights and what to expect from your housing provider

Four Million Homes is hosting two online sessions this February to help social housing tenants understand their repairs rights and what housing providers are responsible for. These sessions are independent, practical, and grounded in real experiences — designed to give you confidence about what strong repairs standards look like in practice.

  • Date: Thursday 12 February 2025
  • Times:
    • 2:30pm to 4:00pm
    • 7:30pm to 9:00pm
  • Location: Online

Why this matters

Repairs make up nearly half of all complaints made to the Housing Ombudsman. This session helps you understand what your housing provider must do, what counts as reasonable timescales, and how new rules such as Awaab’s Law are strengthening expectations around damp, mould and serious hazards.

What you’ll learn

  • What your housing provider is legally responsible for.
  • What “reasonable timescales” should mean.
  • How Awaab’s Law is changing expectations for dealing with serious hazards such as damp and mould.
  • What to do when repairs don’t happen as they should.
  • How to escalate issues, make complaints and get support.
  • Examples of when repairs are handled well and tenants are listened to.

There’ll be time for discussion and questions. Closed captions will be available.
