Share your views on the Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs): Housing Ombudsman consultation
The Housing Ombudsman would like your views on how it'll handle complaints under the new Social Tenants Access to Information Scheme - also known as STAIRs – and you’ve got until Tuesday 17 March 2026 to take part.
As housing association tenant, STAIRs gives you the right to ask for information about how your home and services are managed by us.
The Housing Ombudsman would like your views on:
- whether it’s clear who can complain to the Ombudsman
- whether the time limits for complaints seem fair
- whether the Ombudsman's planned approach to STAIRs investigations will provide fair outcomes
By completing the survey at: www.engage.housing-ombudsman.org.uk/stairs, you'll be helping to ensure the Ombudsman's plans are clear and fair for tenants across the country.
