Moor Lane housing development shortlisted for industry award
We’re proud to share some good news about Neighbourhood Moor Lane – a place some of you already call home.
The development has been shortlisted for Social Housing Development of the Year at the 2026 Insider North West Residential Property Awards.
The shortlisting recognises the quality of the homes, the design of the neighbourhood, and the partnerships that helped bring the site to life.
Neighbourhood Moor Lane was built on the former Bolton bus station site and includes 214 new homes, with a mix of:
- homes for affordable rent
- rent to buy properties
- homes for people aged 55+
- open market properties.
Alongside the homes, the development includes new public spaces and local artisan retail units, helping create a vibrant part of the town centre.
As part of the scheme, 82 homes are managed by us, giving more people access to high-quality, well-designed housing in a central and well connected location. The development sits close to Bolton Market, the Town Hall, The Albert Halls and Le Mans Crescent.
We worked in partnership with Step Places and Bolton Council, with the homes designed by AEW Architects. The focus throughout was on creating housing that meets a wide range of needs, now and in the future.
The homes include features designed to support everyday living and sustainability, such as:
- private gardens and roof terraces
- cycle and buggy storage to support active travel
- air source heat pumps to help reduce carbon emissions.
The surrounding public realm – including Elizabeth Park – was supported by Bolton Towns Fund investment and now forms part of a new green corridor through the town centre.

The Insider North West Residential Property Awards celebrate the people and organisations behind high quality homes and neighbourhoods across the region. Winners will be announced at an event in Manchester on 26 February 2026.
