Modern slavery is a crime and completely violates human rights. How to recognise and report it.

There are different types of modern slavery including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. They exploit people for personal or commercial gain. Read on for the signs and ways to report it or seek advice.

Signs of someone being exploited could be:

  • Looking unkept, malnourished or injured.
  • Acting anxious or afraid and unable to make eye contact.
  • Working long hours and wearing unsuitable clothing for the job.

If you suspect modern slavery near you, please report it.

Phone us on 01204 328000. Other ways to contact us at ww.boltonathome.org.uk/contact-us

You can report it or seek advice through the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline, confidentially, on 08000 121 700.

Also, Greater Manchester Police on 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
