Feel ‘at Home’ on our website: how to use our new Recite Me accessibility toolbar
Great news: our website now includes the Recite Me accessibility toolbar. This means that whenever you visit our website (or open one of the PDFs on it), you can now choose to:
- Hear text read aloud with a screen reader
- Use reading aids to support focus and understanding
- Translate the site into over 100 languages: 65 of which can be read aloud
- Adjust text size, font, spacing, colours, and contrast
- Use AI to simplify or summarise page content
You can activate Recite Me at any time by tapping the blue button in the top-right of our website - and you can learn how to use it by visiting: www.boltonathome.org.uk/recite-me. It works on most devices, and there's no need to download anything.
We’ve added Recite Me to make our website more inclusive - but we’re not stopping there. We’ve also:
- Reviewed most pages to ensure they’re accurate, easy to read, and pass accessibility checks.
- Built the foundations for our new Be One Homes website (launching April 2026), which is designed to be simpler and even more user-friendly. You can catch an early preview of our new website and FAQs on Be One Homes at: www.beonehomes.com.
- Worked with customer groups* to shape our website(s) around their feedback.
