Neurodiversity Celebration Week (16–20 March) is a reminder that people think and process the world in different ways. This year’s theme — From Awareness to Action — encourages organisations to strengthen inclusion and take practical steps that make every day experiences fairer for more people.
Neurodiversity is part of everyday life — it describes the different ways people’s brains work and how they process information. It’s also a reminder to avoid assumptions about how people “should” read or process information — and to recognise the strengths that different ways of thinking can bring. It’s one of the reasons we’ve been working to make our communication easier to understand and act on — including rewriting hundreds of letters into more everyday language.
Different ways of thinking have helped us take a closer look at how people use information — especially when they need to understand something quickly or make a decision — and we’ll continue to build on this.
This focus has shaped much of our preparation for becoming Be One Homes on 1 April 2026. Working with our Customer Scrutiny Group during a communications review encouraged us to keep improving clarity, fairness, and inclusion, and to make sure information works for more people the first time. Their insight also showed that giving people options in how they access information makes a real difference.
Our current and new websites include Recite Me, a toolbar that helps people adapt how they read and navigate online content. It provides:
We’re also building the new Be One Homes website with greater accessibility in mind from the start. It will continue to evolve after launch, shaped by how people use it and the different ways they read, navigate and take in information.
Neurodiversity is part of life for many people, and this week gives us a moment to acknowledge that.
It also gives us space to reflect on how clear, accessible communication can support more people in practical ways as we become Be One Homes.
If there’s something we could understand better about how people take in information, we’re always open to learning from that. And if anything we publish could be clearer or easier to use, please let us know in the way that suits you.
