Here you'll find our most recent news articles, from important tenant updates and new housing developments, to new community initiatives and activities.
Last year, we announced our plans to change our name from Bolton at Home to Be One Homes.
Our new name, Be One Homes, will legally change in April 2026. However, you’ll start seeing our Be One Repairs logo on our servicing and repairs vans from July 2025.
Here is an update on the name change and what to expect:
Why is our name changing?
On 31 March 2024, we officially merged with Greater Manchester-based Arcon Housing Association. Since then, around 4,000 of our customers are based outside of Bolton.
We’re continuing to develop and manage more new homes in Bolton and across the region to help meet affordable housing needs. This is part of our broader commitment to improving services and investing in our communities.
For these reasons, it makes sense for us to change to a name that isn’t location specific and is representative of all our customers.
Why did we choose Be One Homes as the new name?
It’s important to us that all our customers and colleagues feel valued by and connected with us. We wanted our new name to reflect our shared values and our commitment to accountability, inclusivity and togetherness. Be One Homes does this, while still honouring our roots with the “Be One” reference to the Bolton postcode.
When will we change our name?
We’ll officially become Be One Homes in April 2026. Until then, we’ll still legally be known as Bolton at Home. However, where possible, we’re gradually introducing our new logo.
Be One Repairs will start to appear on some of our vans from July 2025 onwards and colleagues in our repairs teams will start to wear Be One Repairs branded clothing during this time.
Why isn’t the new name being introduced all in one go?
We’re introducing the new name and branding in a phased way to make best use of our time and resources.
This approach offers value for money. It also means we can continue to focus on important aspects of service delivery, improve service quality and invest in our communities. For example, we're spending £58 million this year on tenants' homes, improving how we handle damp and mould issues, and making empty homes ready faster.
Do you need to do anything?
For now, you don’t need to do anything. All our services are being delivered by the same teams from the same locations as before. Our contact number will also remain the same.
What to do if you’re ever unsure about the identity of people who contact you from Bolton at Home / Be One Homes?
If you’re ever unsure about a visitor, close and lock the door and call us on our main number 01204 328000, to check their identity. Our colleagues and contractors won’t be offended if you ask them to wait while you check they who they say they are.
What happens next?
We will continue to update you throughout this process, making you aware of the main changes, when they are happening and if you need to do anything.
