Second Storehouse Pantry launches in New Bury UCAN Centre

On Thursday 18 May, Cllr Noel Spencer was joined alongside Bolton at Home’s Chief Executive Jon Lord and Noel Sharpe, Bolton at Home’s Director of Customer and Place, cut the ribbon to officially open the New Bury UCAN Centre and Storehouse Pantry at their new premises in George St, New Bury.

It’s the first UCAN Centre in Bolton to have a Storehouse pantry integrated inside, following the huge success of the Storehouse Pantry at The Hope Centre in Johnson Fold.

Dave Bagley, Chief Executive of Urban Outreach said “It’s a great pleasure see the opening of this today and I hope that with the help of the staff and community, it will make a real difference in the area".

This is now the second Storehouse Pantry within Bolton and is a not-for-profit partnership allowing local residents to access food and other household essentials at a low cost.

Cllr Noel Spencer voiced his support “This is a fantastic facility to have within the UCAN Centre and is crucial to support the community within New Bury".
