Homes for Britain
There is a housing crisis in Britain. After the last general election money for housing was cut by 60%. The simple solution is to build more homes in the right place at the right price. We need to get our message out there in front of the people making the decisions on housing.
"We are supporting the Homes for Britain campaign because it outlines the need for more affordable housing for people on low incomes and the fact that the country needs to urgently plan and deliver this. Economic growth in the UK and the need for housing on a regional basis where low wage jobs are being created means we need more decent housing for working households who are priced out of the market.
For too long housing has been an easy area for the government to reduce investment. Yet it is key for people to have a settled home where children can achieve at school, people can be healthy, gain employment and enjoy family life.
Any government wanting to drive economic growth and create vibrant self sustaining communities and wealth and wellbeing for its citizens needs to invest in housing catering for the range of people it represents."
