UCAN customer - online job searches
Jane attended the UCAN centre for support with IT and job searching online. Jane has recently moved from the South and was feeling very isolated as she had no support in this area. She also was not confident with computers as she was scared she might break them due to her lack of knowledge.
We looked at her job search on her universal credit account and applied for positions online with some assistance. I discussed the functions of the universal credit system and explained how it worked. She took all the information in really well and picked it up fast.
Jane was able to complete her own job search and said she feels a lot better when applying for positions as she now can work alone.
Jane regularly attends the UCAN centre and Harwood library to use the computers and complete her job search online, she gained confidence throughout the sessions and has a lot less anxiety when working on a computer.
Mindfulness with Karen Openshaw
Karen offers a much-loved 'Listening Ear' service to our staff and has produced these sessions exclusively for anyone visiting the Bolton at Home website/Facebook page.
