Starts at Home Day
Today is Starts at Home Day. Led by the National Housing Federation and supported by housing providers throughout the country, this campaign celebrates how supported housing schemes and floating services help hundreds of thousands of people to regain their independence and grow in confidence. Starts at Home plays a key part in asking the Government to commit to ensuring that every person who needs extra support has a home that meets their needs.
Through supported housing services we help 600 households to sustain their tenancy and get life changing support. This includes providing debt advice, domestic abuse support and housing support, and building people's resilience alongside health and social care colleagues, substance misuse services and mental health professionals. We also provide 2,500 sheltered homes, including four extra care schemes.
Supported and sheltered housing is crucial in providing a safe and secure home with support for people to live independently.
