Charity golf day does good for Bolton Wanderers in the Community

Charity golf day does good for Bolton Wanderers in the Community
On Friday 12 August, four of our staff took to the golf course (as a team representing Bolton at Home) to compete against others in aid of a local charity we're delighted to support.

Our colleagues were able to take part because we’d made a donation to Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC)- a charity spin-off of BWFC that does great work in neighbourhoods across the borough.

Fierce competition from 19 other teams meant we weren't able to come out on top this time, but we'd still finished with a respectable 71 points (against a winning score of 83 points).

What's more, a total of £13,610 was raised for BWitC thanks to support from various team entries (like ours) and sponsorships. This'll help the charity continue on its mission to “use the power of Bolton Wanderers Football Club to inspire, support and deliver positive change”.

Through intervention, prevention, and targeted engagement, the charity creates “sustainable pathways that transform lives”. Project themes include employability, active ageing, cohesion, wellbeing, and more- and you can find further details on what they do on their Facebook page (Bolton Wanderers in the Community) or at: www.bwitc.org.uk.

Thanks to everyone involved on Friday- especially all those teams who competed during what was one of the hottest days of the year.
