The Homes and Community Agency is the regulator of social housing in England and it exercises its functions through the Regulation Committee. It sets out seven standards that we have to meet:
Economic standards
Consumer standards
- Tenant involvement and empowerment - this is about customer service, choice and complaints, involvement and empowerment, and understanding and responding to diverse needs of tenants.
- Home – this is about quality of accommodation and repairs and maintenance.
- Tenancy – this is about allocations, rent and tenure.
- Neighbourhood and community – this relates to neighbourhood management, local area co-operation, and antisocial behaviour.
We publish our feedback to tenants each October, which includes information about how we are meeting the standards.
In addition, the Regulation Committee expects us to work with our customers to agree local offers (standards) for service delivery. As a result of your feedback we have now been able to develop your local standards. We report on how well we are delivering the standards on the website and in our tenant newsletter, Door to Door, on a regular basis.
