Meet the management team

 
Our management team includes:

Jon Lord OBE
Chief Executive

After initially working as a Funeral Director, Jon made the leap into housing in 1987 and gained his wealth of experience with a wide variety of roles in management and tenant participation.

Jon became a Chief Officer in Bolton Council in 2001 and has been the Chair of the Greater Manchester Consortium for refugees and asylum seekers since that time. In addition, he had a unique joint role across the Local Authority, ALMO and Strategic Housing Partnership, managing a wide range of housing services as well as responsibility for the development of affordable housing.

He was awarded an OBE in 2007 for services to housing.

In April 2010, Jon became the Chief Executive of Bolton’s ALMO, Bolton at Home, and has led the organisation in the transition from ALMO to a Registered Housing and Regeneration company. 

 

Sharon Taylor ACMA
Deputy Chief Executive, Director of Business and Financial Services and Company Secretary

Sharon has over 25 years experience in a wide range of financial roles, and has worked in housing for the last 13 years.

Her current role as Deputy Chief Executive, Director of Business and Financial Services and Company Secretary includes responsibilities for the Organisation’s financial planning and reporting, business planning and performance management, asset management, ICT, communications and marketing and governance.

 

Previous experience includes providing strategic support and advice to a number of Local Authority Departments, leading banking and treasury management teams and lecturing in accountancy at colleges of further education.

 

Sharon is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

 

Ian Ankers
Director of Housing Services

With over 20 years experience in Housing Ian is skilled in delivering Housing , capital works, new build, and innovative developments in regeneration. Ian has worked for LA Housing, HA and, Stock Transfers and is currently a Director with the 3 star excellent Bolton at Home ALMO.

Ian is a Board Member of Eastlands Homes and a Director of the Northern Housing Consortium. He also chairs a group of ALMOs collaborating on a shared service approach.

 

Gwen Crawford BA (Hons) MCIH ARICS 
Director of Housing Regeneration

Gwen has worked in housing for over 25 years, currently as Director of Housing Regeneration at Bolton at Home. Her current role includes responsibility for a large new housing Regeneration programme called Transforming Estates which Bolton at Home is developing in partnership with the Council and local RSLs.

 

Before joining Bolton, she was Assistant Lead Housing Inspector for the north, with responsibility for a team of housing inspectors undertaking a broad and complex range of housing inspections with local authorities and RSLs. Before this she was an inspector for two years, leading on complex and high risk inspections, several of which involved many millions of pounds riding on the results of the inspection.
 

Prior to this she was head of housing at South Ribble Borough Council for eight years, where she led a small multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering retained housing services following stock transfer. 

She has previously worked in all housing sectors including the private sector as a Senior Valuation Surveyor, as well as being Development Manager at St Vincent’s Housing Association for five years.

 

Kaye Grogan MCIPD
Director of Organisational Development

With over 23 years experience in Organisational Development spanning both the private and public sectors.  Kaye is currently the Director of Organisational Development at Bolton at Home, responsible for HR, Learning and Development and Health & Safety. 

 

Her role includes ensuring BH has the capacity and capability to deliver the organisation’s business plans by ensuring the people strategies and management functions are aligned to the business needs.

 

Before joining Bolton at Home, Kaye worked at a strategic level within a number of local authorities providing a range of services to a diverse customer base.

 

Jim Higham MCIOB Dip BMM MIMBM
Director of Technical Services

Jim has worked in housing for over 35 years, currently as Director of Technical Services at Bolton at Home.  His current role includes responsibility for delivery of the capital investment programme and the repairs and maintenance service.

 

Before joining Bolton at Home, he ran his own consultancy practice for 17 years, providing a range of specialist services around Asset Management and Repairs and Maintenance.  He has also worked as a Director and Partner in another well known, national housing consultancy practice.

 

Prior to this he was Director of Property Services for Community Housing, London and for North British Housing Association as Assistant Director of Technical Services and Regional Development Manager.

 

He was previously one of the founder members of Central Lancashire Development Corporation’s Urban Renewal Team, working on the regeneration of both Chorley and Preston Urban Housing Care.
