Walkways, lighting, roads and fencing
We want to make sure that not only are your homes warm, comfortable and decent, but also that the environment around your home is safe, pleasant and somewhere to be proud of.
We’ve carried out five pilot schemes across the borough, which we’ve collectively called Great Estates. Working with landscape designers and customers we’ve tried a different and more comprehensive approach to improving the environments on estates. These pilot schemes have been very successful. They have not only transformed the physical aspects of those areas but have also brought communities and neighbours together and enabled people to make new friends.
We’re now developing a programme so that this pilot work can be rolled out across all of our estates. To do that, we’re assessing the quality of the existing environment and how much investment is needed from area to area.
