Peace of mind with home contents insurance
You can protect you personal possessions by taking out a home contents insurance policy. Lots of different policies are available and you can compare cover and rates by going online to sites such as www.moneysupermarket.com or www.moneysavingexpert.com.
We also offer a home contents insurance policy through Aviva which is only available to Bolton at Home tenants. You need to have a clear rent account to apply or to make a claim.

The insurance covers damage or loss due to fire, water damage, theft and vandalism as well as full accidental damage. Cover is “new for old”, there is no excess to pay and no need for extra security requirements (e.g. window locks).
Premiums are payable weekly with your rent.
The cost is 24p per week per £1000 of cover.
So, for example:
£1.44 per week for £6,000 of cover (£6,000 is minimum cover if you are over 60 years)
£2.16 per week for £9,000 of cover (£9,000 is minimum cover if you are under 60 years)
£8.40 per week for £35,000 of cover (£35,000 is the maximum for both under and over 60's)
A leaflet, which includes a summary of the policy details and an application form, can be sent out or collected from any neighbourhood office or downloaded from this page.
To make a claim, simply ring 01204 335246 between 9.00am and 5.00pm (Monday to Friday). We’ll take your details and post you out a claim form out (subject to you having a clear rent account). Complete the form and send it to the address on the form. The loss adjusters will contact you to make an arrangement to visit with a view to settling the claim.
