Using your technology to help you to continue living independently
Careline is our 24-hour, 365-day-a-year community alarm service which helps elderly or vulnerable customers to continue living independently whether you are our tenant, living in private rented accommodation or an owner occupier.
Using special equipment and at the touch of a button you can get help from experienced operators based at our modern control centre. Staff are ready to respond if emergency assistance is required, at any time of the day or night. Careline also have a back up control centre to ensure a round the clock service even in the event of our primary control centre being shut down for any reason.
Careline can provide emergency assistance to people of all ages, those with disabilities or long term illness, people experiencing domestic violence or who just want reassurance that someone is there to help if needed.
Equipment
In your home we’ll install an easy to use piece of equipment which is a small base unit which connects to your own telephone and you will get a pendant which you can wear in a number of ways.
A powerful microphone and transmitter in the Careline base unit means that our Careline operators can still hear you and speak to you even if you cant get to the telephone.
If you are suffering from domestic violence, Careline can supply special silent equipment that alerts our operators but does not sound within the house.
Summoning help
Simply press the alarm button on either your pendant or on your Careline base unit. This puts you in contact with the Careline control centre.
Our experienced operators will quickly assess the situation and respond appropriately. They will call a doctor, friend or relative, send out our mobile response staff (if you live within the Bolton Borough) or contact the emergency services.

Careline can also help you if you’re being discharged from hospital or if you’re being cared for by someone. In this circumstances we can usually provide our Careline service free of charge for four weeks.
