A group of twelve Romanian young people from the town of Bistrita in Transylvania recently came to stay with a group of young people from Bolton. The whole group had the opportunity to become volunteers, working with our Technical Services on a range of duties, such as bricklaying, environmental work and following us on repairs to our properties.
The group from Romania also had the opportunity to observe some of Bolton’s cultural diversity, such as the Faith Trail organised in partnership with Bolton Interfaith Council. This included a visit to Zakarriyah Mosque, Shree Swaminayaran Temple and the United Reform Church on St George’s Rd.
In April, the second part of the exchange programme will see the group of young people from Bolton staying in Bistrita with their new Romanian friends. We look forward to hearing all about it when they return!
