Special shirt for Wanderers next league clash

Bolton Wanderers players will wear shirts carrying our logo as they take on Middlesborough at The Macron Stadium this Saturday (16 April).

The club and its community trust are making the game their annual community match fixture, recognising their partnership with us, and they’ve donated 1,500 tickets to our customers engaged in neighbourhood services and active in their communities.

Over the last three years, we’ve worked together to encourage thousands of local young people to get involved in sport, education and volunteering opportunities.

Thanks to permission from usual sponsor, the University of Bolton, our logo will be printed on the front of the club’s Macron-manufactured home shirts for the televised Sky game. The players’ pre-match training kit will also carry the names of several local charities associated with Bolton at Home.

Jon Lord, our Chief Executive, said: “We thank the university for their support, which will help make it a special day for our communities to enjoy. Whilst it’s been a tough season, both on and off the pitch, the club continues to do so much in the community and this shouldn’t be overlooked.”

Phil Mason, Head of the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust, said: “The partnership with Bolton at Home is very important to us and helps us engage with young people in Bolton whilst narrowing the gap of disadvantage. We’d of course like to thank the University of Bolton for their great support. When we approached them about this initiative they had no hesitation in lending their support.”

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Bolton, Professor George E. Holmes DL, said: “We’re very proud to be able to support both Bolton Wanderers and Bolton at Home, as a key player in the wider Bolton family."

Following the match, we’ll donate signed shirts to our charity partners for auctions and fundraising.
