Real Living Wage

Bolton at Home welcomes the increase in pay rates announced by the Living Wage Foundation as part of this Living Wage Week (5 – 11 November).

The new UK rate, outside of London, will increase to £8.75 per hour. It is independently calculated to meet the cost of living, applies to people aged over 18 and will come in within six months.

Over 3,500 employers voluntarily pay the real Living Wage, which will now be £3.15 more than the minimum wage for 18 to 20 year olds and £1.25 above the national living wage rate for people aged over 25.

Jon Lord, our Chief Executive, said: “Five years ago, Bolton at Home was among the first employers in the town to pay at least the real Living Wage. We continue to support the campaign and believe this standard of pay helps to improve employee morale and service quality for customers.”
