Poppy tribute

Poppy tribute

Well done to the community groups who teamed-up and decorated parts of Bolton Town Hall with a wall of poppies for the Remembrance Sunday service.

Resourceful members of Dramatic Action, Drummond Street Community Group, St George's Court sheltered schemes, Fusion Community Group and Café, Eagley School House, Building Bridges, 77th St Andrew's Brownies, Asda and some local school children made the poppies from used plastic drink bottles. They creatively attached them to a giant net that cascaded down the Town Hall and steps for a fitting tribute.

It was a great example of working in a partnership, which also made and/or sold poppies, brooches and a poppy-filled tree over a number of weeks. Thanks to everyone involved for your efforts and fundraising for the Royal British Legion. Thanks also to those of you who donated or collected the plastic bottles.
