Our film stars go behind the scenes at the BBC

It’s not every day you get the chance to sit on the famous BBC News' sofa, see a sport studio broadcast to the world and pretend you’re a button-pressing, chair-swinging judge on The Voice. But that’s what the BBC Outreach Team did for the cast of our soon-to-be-launched Stanger Danger Film.

In the film, the stories of ‘Billy and Bella Bolton’ highlight to school children the potential dangers posed by strangers and the importance of being aware and staying safe, online and offline.

It’s designed to encourage children to interact with the storylines and discuss the consequences of sharing personal information and meeting people they don’t know.

Originally a live performance, created and performed live in schools by our customer volunteer group Dramatic Action, the BBC liked the idea so much that they worked with us to turn it into a film that we can share nationally.

Members of Dramatic Action, pupils from Eagley Junior and Turton Secondary, and a couple of our own staff played the roles in the film.

To make the most of their filming experience, the BBC invited them all to a special preview screening at BBC offices in Media City,Salford, followed by unique access to a number of studios.

The group even joined North West News’ Presenter Annabel Tiffin on the famous red sofa to learn about news reporting, producing and presenting. Annabel couldn’t have been any more welcoming as this was all in-between airtime!

We're making Stranger Danger available to watch soon.

If you’re interested in joining Dramatic Action, please phone Val Hulme on 01203 327989. It’s a great way to learn new skills, build confidence, be creative and meet new people.
