New builds mean more affordable homes.

New builds mean more affordable homes.

To ease waiting lists, provide more family homes and help customers to downsize, we’ve an ongoing commitment to increasing the amount of affordable housing.

That’s why we’ve got a number of new build development projects on the go, which also include onsite training and development opportunities for local people.

We’ve recently built 42 properties, including:

  • 10 two- and three-bedroom homes at Darley St in Farnworth.
  • 10 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes Hayfield Close in Brownlow Way.
  • 22 two- and three-bedroom homes at Greenroyd Avenue in Breightmet.

We’re also building a further 18 homes at Wildman Lane, Farnworth.

We asked some of the new tenants what they thought about their new homes as they moved in…

Deborah Mills told us:
“I’ve downsized after living in my old house became too much for me. With three of my four children now grown-up and having left home, I was left to pay the bedroom tax on two spare bedrooms. So this is a perfect move. My new home is absolutely lovely and it’s really lifted my spirits.”

Katie Relph said:
"I was over the moon when I heard that we’d got one. I used to walk past when they were being built. We’ve moved from somewhere unsuitable for raising a baby and we feel very lucky.”

Emma Fisher said:
“I’ve got four children, including a son with disabilities, and they all had to share one bedroom in our old house. We’ve now got lots more space, which will be absolutely brilliant for us.”
