Let’s Remember up for major award

Let’s Remember up for major award

Congratulations to members of Dramatic Action and everyone they worked with on last year’s Let’s Remember poppy making project. In partnership with us, they have been shortlisted for the Community Impact Awards in the health and wellbeing category. The awards are run by the National Housing Federation.

Dramatic Action is a community drama and craft group in Bolton. Its 20 members include people with disabilities, ex offenders and former users of substances. They use their own experiences of personal barriers to raise public awareness of social issues through creative and community activities.

In their Let’s Remember project, Dramatic Action worked with other groups and residents to create one of Bolton’s largest public art installations. They made hundreds of poppies from used plastic drinks bottles and attached them to a giant net that cascaded down the Town Hall in tribute to Remembrance Day. It helped ensure Remembrance Sunday remains relevant to all generations and raised money for the British Legion.

Check out all the award contenders here. You will be able to vote for Let’s Remember as the nominees will be up for a public vote during Community Impact Week, from 6-12 November.
