Ish is the Manager of a Day Care and Day Centre provision; a social care
agency providing specified services for local older Asian people.
While on the Sub Group he would like to achieve appropriate and culturally
sensitive services for minority groups (sheltered accommodation and improved
careline for older Asians); improved marketing; empowerment of tenants
(consultation, participation and feedback) and better communication and
information sharing.
Experience and skills Ish brings to the Sub Group are health and care,
ethnic minority communities’ needs and values; older people and more
specifically older Asian people and marketing. He is an active community
representative, training provider and consultant for minority communities
(training and employment).
Ish is a qualified Social Worker and his voluntary work includes being a
Chair Person of Bolton Mela.
Preferring open discussion which is jargon free and simple Ish is more
interested in actual work and commitment rather than justification
(policies, numbers etc.). He admits to being rather weak in time management
for which he compensates through his commitment.
Ish’s favourite holiday destination is Dubai and his favourite food Chicken
Karai.
