George was in the forces for 18 years and went on to work for British
Aerospace for 13 years. Prior to his retirement he held a management
position for a number of years. He is now retired and is a carer for his
wife.
George has been involved with BATRA for approximately 10 years during which
time he has dealt with lots of issues with the tenants’ movement. He was
Chair of the District Housing Working Party and also Assistant Chair for the
Brazley Residents Association, both for approximately 8 years.
During his time on the Board, George would like to try and voice the
opinions of tenants in Bolton and make them heard, and achieve better
standards of living for the people of the Borough. George brings to the
Board management skills, the ability to talk to people from all walks of
life, problem solving and years of experience with BATRA, and dealing with
the Council at all levels.
On a voluntary basis George works with his local youth club and his
interests include football, fishing and gardening. His favourite food is
good old egg, chips and beans.
