
Working in Local Government, Barbara is currently a Homelessness and
Housing Advice Officer, prior to which she was a Tenant Participation
Officer. Barbara was also employed as a Personnel Officer and has continued
to be interested in industrial / employee relations.
Barbara has various commercial qualifications, including a BA Hons Degree
attained through Open University study, with a broad experience on housing
matters.
During her time with Bolton at Home, Barbara would like to see Central
Government funding attracted to ensure decent and constantly improving
standards for its customers, as well as sustaining communities.
By way of voluntary work, Barbara is a Member of the Hindley and Clough Farm
Residents Association, a member of Westhoughton Town Council, and a member
of the Westhoughton Neighbourhood Panel and the Westhoughton Area Forum.
She is also on the Bolton Affiliation of Tenants and Residents Association (BATRA)
Board of Trustees and a member of the Governing Body for Westhoughton High
School.
Chinese is Barbara’s favourite food and Cyprus her favourite holiday
destination.
When it comes to a good read, Barbara’s favourite book is the Ragged
Trousered Philanthropists by Robert Tressell (Robert Noonan).
