Pupils at Westhoughton High School are getting their days off to a healthy
start thanks to a breakfast club and extra sports tuition.
Made possible by funding of £5,000 from Bolton at Home’s Westhoughton
Neighbourhood Panel, a breakfast club encourages youngsters not to skip
meals and provides a nutritional breakfast each morning.
The money has also allowed extra sports training sessions and team games to
be offered at the school, which are delivered by Bolton Wanderers Football
in the Community.
Noel Spencer, Chair of Bolton at Home, said: “We are delighted to support
much needed healthy and fun activities for young people in Westhoughton.”
Phil Hart, Headteacher of Westhoughton High School, added: “We really
appreciate this funding. It enables the school to offer positive activities
which help to promote a healthy culture among the pupils.”
