Noel Spencer, Chair of Bolton at Home welcomes Rehana Babariya, PATH trainee, to Bolton at Home

PATH-way to better prospects

12-OCT-05

Bolton at Home has given a number of training and education opportunities to young adults from Asian communities in Bolton.

Six trainees aged between 16 and 23, have started 12 month PATH (Positive Action Training in Housing) work placements from September, which will provide them with work experience and support to achieve National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs).

PATH is an initiative which provides supported training and development opportunities for people from traditionally under represented communities.

Four of the PATH trainees will be working towards achieving NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and 2 will be working towards NVQ Level 2 in Customer Care. Both qualifications will provide trainees with new knowledge and skills, and recognition of this to improve future job prospects.

Rehana Babariya from Halliwell, PATH trainee within Bolton at Home’s Customer Involvement Team, said: “This is a great opportunity for me to gain real work experience and support to achieve a qualification which is recognised nationally.”

Noel Spencer, Chair of Bolton at Home, added: “Young people are our future and we are delighted this programme will offer opportunities for learning and development, and help to build longer term career prospects.”
