Nuisance neighbour evicted

20-APR-07

A man in Halliwell who brought misery to his neighbours was evicted on Friday.

Bolton at Home took action against the 37 year-old man, following antisocial behaviour which included repeated neighbour intimidation, verbal abuse, noise nuisance and criminal damage to the property.

The man had received repeated warnings to improve his behaviour.

However the situation did not improve and a judge at Bolton County Court awarded Bolton at Home possession of the property on 14 March. The man did not attend the hearing which included a witness standing up to give evidence about the man’s conduct.

Bailiffs and representatives from Bolton at Home served a warrant for eviction on Friday 20 April. Police were also present.

Noel Spencer MBE, Chair of Bolton at Home, said: “We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour of any kind. We are also committed to support residents who have suffered from anti-social behaviour. More witnesses coming forward will allow us to tackle the offenders more effectively.”
