New radio station needs budding DJs

10-JAN-08

Residents in Johnson Fold are invited to get involved in running their own community radio station.

Local volunteers are now needed to be radio presenters, producers, and writers for a radio drama, in preparation for Johnson Fold FM, set to hit the airwaves in April.

The event will be a four-day, 24-hour, radio broadcast, including a showcase event open to the public.

Johnson Fold FM is a joint project, managed by Bolton at Home and funded by Bolton Council.

Setting up a community radio station in Johnson Fold follows on from the success of previous projects in Hall i’th’ Wood and Westhoughton, where community radio broadcasts brought communities closer together and offered new skills and development opportunities.

Anyone interested in taking part in Johnson Fold FM should contact Danielle Porter at Bolton at Home, on 01204 335560, or via email to danielle.porter@boltonathome.org.uk.
