Senior housing managers and youngsters joined together recently for a
'question time' session at Bolton at Home offices

Young people from Bolton had the chance to
quiz housing decision-makers when they were invited to a ‘Question Time’
session at Bolton at Home’s offices recently.
The event was part of the Bored2Board Project launched by Bolton at Home to
celebrate International Youth Day. Young people identified through the
project were invited to the question and answer session and had the
opportunity to quiz a panel of housing chiefs including including George
Caswell, Chief Executive and Councillor Noel Spencer, MBE, Chair of Bolton
at Home.
Commenting on the event Noel Spencer said “The Board2Bored Project seeks to
overcome barriers to participation for young people by helping to develop
their skills and providing them with the opportunities to have their say and
be heard. The overall impact of this project will create opportunities at a
local level and within our organisation which will ensure that young people
are able to be involved and have their say”.
Curtis Chapman, a Youth Participation Worker, has been employed through the
Board2Bored project since January 2007 and has already engaged with a
significant number of young people in many of Bolton at Home’s defined
neighbourhoods.
Bored2Board is a project in partnership with Bolton Lads and Girls Club
which aims to better engage with and involve young people between the ages
of 13 – 17 years old in decision-making which affects them.
