

Grand unveiling: The Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Frank White and Mayoress, Mrs Eileen White with Phoebe Arnold, resident of Hall i’th Wood sheltered accommodation

The Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Frank White and Mayoress, Mrs Eileen White joined local residents at Green Way Community Centre, Hall i’th’ Wood on Wednesday 8th June, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Hall i’th’ Wood sheltered accommodation, managed by Bolton at Home.
In recognition of the anniversary, a plaque was unveiled by the Mayor, and residents enjoyed games, music and food, with some attending in sixties’ style dress.
Phoebe Arnold, 94, who has been a resident of Hall i’th’ Wood sheltered accommodation since 1982, said: “Today has been a marvellous day. It is lovely to see the residents enjoying themselves and everyone is so happy together.”
The Green Way Community Centre regularly hosts luncheon clubs, coffee mornings, art and craft classes, and also fund raising activities. Recently, residents raised £700 for Cancer Research.
Cllr Noel Spencer, Chair of Bolton at Home, added: “We appreciate the efforts put in by everyone at Hall i’th’ Wood and it is great to be with so many friends at this celebration.”
