garden

Residents of Flockton Court in Horwich are celebrating after winning a first
prize in the annual Horwich in Bloom Garden Competition for their communal
garden.
The sheltered accommodation, managed by Bolton at Home, headed the category
for ‘Places of Worship, Residential Homes, Day Centres and Sheltered
Housing’ after the garden impressed judges with its design and colour, array
of plants and ornament features.
Noel Spencer, Chair of Bolton at Home said: “We are delighted for the
residents, who are very proud of their garden and active in maintaining it.
This award gives them deserved recognition for their efforts.”
Geoffrey Lindop, resident of Flockton Court, added: “The garden gives all
the residents here an enjoyable way to spend time together with friends and
family. We really love having a nice seating area where we can sit and look
at the flowers, mosaic and water feature.”
