Young people in a number of areas of the borough will have the opportunity
to take part in free football sessions over the summer.
With funding from Bolton at Home’s neighbourhood panels and local community
panels, Bolton Council’s Sports, Health and Inclusion Team and Bolton
Wanderers Football in the Community will provide football training sessions
and team games for 8 – 15 year olds. These will take place across several
neighbourhoods, starting from Monday 24th July.
Continuing over the next six weeks, the football sessions will be held up to
three times a week at locations in Farnworth, Breightmet, Deane, Horwich,
Westhoughton, Brownlow Way, and Johnson Fold.
Additionally, multi sport sessions have been arranged in Farnworth, Great
Lever and the Blackburn Road area, with dance sessions running in Breightmet,
Johnson Fold and Tonge.
Noel Spencer, Chair of Bolton at Home, said: “We are delighted to support
healthy and fun activities for young people throughout the summer holidays,
which can play a part in strengthening local communities. Hopefully some
emerging talent will be spotted too!”
