Book club: Bolton resident Mohmed Patel joins Noel Spencer MBE at the
'Snapshot of Bolton' exhibition
19-JAN-07
Bolton’s diversity is on public display this week thanks to a special
exhibition in the town centre.
Celebrating equality and diversity across the borough through photographs
and short stories, the ‘Snapshot of Bolton’ exhibition will be held in the
Crompton Place shopping centre until Wednesday 24 January.
The free event offers visitors the opportunity to gain unique insights into
the life experiences and ideas of a wide range of Bolton at Home’s
customers, staff and Board members. It includes the ‘Library of Unwritten
Books’, which captures ideas for books that everyday people would like to
write, along with accompanying portraits.
The event was launched by Noel Spencer MBE, Chair of Bolton at Home. Paying
tribute to the efforts of those behind the exhibition, Noel Spencer said: “A
lot of hard work has gone into creating an interesting exhibition for the
public to enjoy. I am very proud to be part of something that not only
raises awareness of the diversity in Bolton, but also highlights Bolton at
Home’s commitment to equality and diversity.”
Mohmed Patel from Bolton was among the residents who contributed their own
story to the exhibition. Mr Patel said: “It has been great to be given an
opportunity to share my experiences with others.”
