Antisocial behaviour is: “any behaviour which interferes with the
peaceful
enjoyment of the home and surrounding area.” (Source: Hunter, Nixon and
Shawe 2000, Tackling Antisocial Behaviour)
Bolton at Home is committed to investigating and resolving cases of
antisocial
behaviour, nuisance and hate crime. We will ensure all reported incidents,
where Bolton at Home is responsible, are sensitively investigated and
resolved.
Appropriate action will be taken against offenders and support provided to
victims of antisocial behaviour, nuisance and hate crime.
Antisocial behaviour includes serious incidents – threats of physical
violence
and actual violence, serious criminal damage to property, hate crimes and
incidents, drug issues, domestic violence, ongoing harassment or
intimidation.
Nuisance includes noise nuisance, youth nuisance, dogs barking, frequent visitors to property late at night causing nuisance where there is no criminal activity and verbal abuse.
Hate crimes and incidents target someone specifically because of who or what they are for example, because of people’s sexual preference, race, religious beliefs, disability, mental health issues or learning difficulties.
If you make a complaint we will offer you an interview within the following timescales:
Customers reporting antisocial behaviour, nuisance and hate crime will be
kept up to date regularly with progress in relation to their complaint.
