Antisocial behaviour is: “any behaviour which interferes with the peaceful enjoyment of the home and surrounding area.” (Source: Hunter, Nixon and Shawe 2000, Tackling Antisocial Behaviour)

Bolton at Home is committed to investigating and resolving cases of antisocial behaviour, nuisance, racial harassment and hate crime. We will ensure all reported incidents on estates managed by Bolton at Home and all cases on designated private sector renewal areas are sensitively investigated and resolved.

Appropriate action will be taken against offenders and support provided to victims of antisocial behaviour, nuisance, racial harassment and hate crime.

Antisocial behaviour

Antisocial behaviour includes serious incidents – threats of physical violence and actual violence, serious criminal damage to property, racial harassment, hate crime, drug issues, domestic violence, ongoing harassment or intimidation.

Nuisance

Nuisance includes noise nuisance, youth nuisance, dogs barking, untidy gardens, frequent visitors to property late at night causing nuisance where there is no criminal activity, fly tipping, non-racist graffiti, parking and boundary disputes.

Racial harassment

Racial harassment is: “any incident which is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person.” (Source: Stephen Lawrence inquiry report). Hate crime includes incidents which target someone specifically because of who or what they are for example, because of people’s sexual preference, disability, mental health issues and learning difficulties.

If you make a complaint we will offer you an interview within the following timescales:

Customers reporting antisocial behaviour, nuisance, racial harassment and hate crime will be kept up to date regularly with progress in relation to their complaint
