What we do

Bolton at Home provides a number of different services

• A housing service delivered from your community housing offices, local housing staff can help and advise on a number of issues concerning your tenancy
• A secure tenancy which provides all the rights the law gives to a secure tenant
• Low affordable rents
• Help and advice on paying rent
• A range of locations and ways to pay your rent
• Service facilities at all local housing offices so repairs can be reported or problems with other services e.g. highway and street cleaning
• A 24 hour emergency repair service
• Community based repair operatives (CBRO),
• Tradespeople located throughout the districts to deliver a local repair service
• Planned Maintenance work for non urgent external repairs
• Concierge service is provided in specific locations which is staffed 24 hours per day and provides door entry and close circuit television monitoring to help provide a safer environment
• Warden and Careline Services which are available to sheltered accommodation throughout the Borough
• Local Community Planning which involves targeted estates, working in partnership with the other departments, and helping local residents to influence services on their estates
• Customer Involvement, Bolton at Home is committed to listening to and supporting the views of tenants
• homesforyou service so that customers only have to fill in one form to apply for a rented home with a number of registered social landlords
• A caretaking service which removes all racial graffiti within 1 day of being told about it and removes all over graffiti within 7 days of being told about it

Private Sector – Area Renewal

The aim of the service is to improve the condition of private sector housing and to regenerate local areas by providing services which meet local and individual needs. The service provides grants for physical improvements to private sector stock and the environment.

In addition targeted areas are supported through Local Community Planning and an Urban Care approach via Urban Care and Neighbourhood Centres (UCAN Centres).
