What is Anti-social behaviour?

There is no commonly agreed definition of what is meant by the term Anti-Social behaviour. It can cover a wide range of behaviour from a little noise nuisance to serious harassment. Some examples of Anti-social behaviour are listed below:

Bolton at Home has a responsibility to investigate reported complaints of Anti-social behaviour for:

It is possible to take action if the behaviour occurs either in the tenant's home or in the locality around their home. For instance, if the tenant's children are causing trouble several streets away from their home. It is possible to hold the tenant responsible.

What to do if you think you are experiencing Anti-social behaviour

If you or the alleged perpetrators are:

It is Bolton at Home's responsibility to investigate.

You will need to contact your Neighbourhood Office or local estate office (full list available in Useful Links at the end) who will:

  1. open an Anti-social behaviour case file and complete the initial report, this will record the details of the incident,
  2. make an assessment of the complaint to determine the urgency,
  3. make an appointment with you where the investigation process will begin.

In very serious cases please contact the Police.
